Defeat for Yeovil confirms relegation

GOALS from Jesse Lingard and Kazenga Lua Lua for Brighton confirmed Yeovil Town's relegation this evening back to League One after just 12 months in the second tier of English football following their Play Off Final victory at Wembley last year.

The Glovers rise from non league football to the Championship though is something not to be frowned upon and with a population of just 40,000 the club can take pride from their progress up the ladder to reach their highest ever place in their 119 year history.

Relegation could also see an interesting rematch between father and son with Yeovil's manager Gary Johnson pitting his wits against his son Lee, currently manager at Oldham Athletic in League One.

The victory saw Brighton leapfrog Reading into 6th place and back into contention for the play offs in front of just under 27,000 at the Amex Stadium.
