Cureton milestone in vain

Yeovil picked up three valuable points in their battle to avoid relegation with an entertaining 3-2 win at neighbours Exeter. Exeter struck first when Jamie Cureton latched onto Ryan Harley's through ball. His first shot was saved, but the veteran striker reacted quickly to tap into an empty net for his 200th career league goal. Yeovil equalised when Andy Welsh's free kick was headed in by Sam Williams, but his celebrations were cut short as he landed awkwardly and dislocated a shoulder. Exeter regained the lead when Cureton again reacted quickly to some hesitancy in the Yeovil defence and lobbed the ball over Stephen Henderson and into the net from Richard Logan`s clever flick-on. However, it was Yeovil and Dean Bowditch's second half as he beat the flailing Ben Hamer to a cross to head the equaliser and then tapped into an empty net after Hamer had spilled Jon Obika's shot for the winning goal in the 64th minute. Exeter had plenty of chances to equalise as Yeovil defended gamely for their lives, but Troy Archibald-Henville, Ryan Harley and Marcus Stewart all missed golden opportunities for the Grecians.
