Lennon happy with Chairboys

Veteran midfielder Neil Lennon has hailed the form that has seen Wycombe Wanderers rise to sixth place in League Two and move only seven points away from automatic promotion.

The former Celtic and Nottingham Forest enforcer joined the Chairboys at the end of the January transfer window and has been hugely impressed with what he has seen so far.

The 36-year-old told the club's official website: "We have a real good balance between battle-hardened players such as David McCracken and Leon Johnson and the players that have a wee bit of creativity at the other end of the pitch like of Sergio Torres, Scott McGleish and Leon Knight.

"I've been very pleased with the performances and the only time we've been under pressure was in the second half at Rochdale.

"In terms of the performances they have been excellent, we've got back-to-back wins and there is a wee gap emerging between us and the teams behind us. We've bedded into the play-off places nicely.

"We've given ourselves a bit of breathing space, so we're not looking behind us, we're looking to catch the top three."
