Wycombe Wanderers boss Paul Lambert has snapped up Aston Villa midfielder Chris Herd on a month's loan.
The 18-year-old, who returned to Villa Park earlier this week after enjoying a successful loan spell at Port Vale, will strengthen Lambert's midfield options.
The Chairboys boss told the club's official website: "Because of the injuries to Sergio Torres and Matty Bloomfield, and Tommy Doherty's suspension, I felt we needed to get someone in.
"I spoke to Martin O'Neill's assistant, John Robertson, and he gave Chris a big recommendation. Robbo was one of the best wingers this country has ever seen so, if he says the boy can do us a job, then I'm happy to listen.
"I'm very grateful to Martin (O'Neill) for letting us have Chris for this crucial month. He loaned us Stephen O'Halloran last season and look what a great job he did for us."
