Lambert lands striker Facey

Promotion-chasing Wycombe Wanderers have bolstered their strikeforce by snapping up much-travelled forward Delroy Facey on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old moves to Adams Park from Gillingham after scoring three times in 35 appearances for the struggling League One side.

Chairboys boss Paul Lambert told the club's official website: "Delroy's just the type of player we've been looking for.

"He's big, strong and quick and he'll give us a real alternative up front. We need someone with the strength to hold the ball up and that's one of his big assets.

"Everyone knows that we tried to get Paul Furlong, but he's the leading scorer for Luton this season and they weren't prepared to let him go. Delroy's a younger version of Furlong and he was always in our thoughts."
