Lambert dismisses quit talk

10 Mar 2008 - 10:42:57

Wycombe Wanderers boss Paul Lambert has laughed off weekend reports suggesting he is set to walk out on the club and replace Mark McGhee as the manager of Motherwell.

Lambert, a former Steelmen player, is reported to be the favourite to take over at Fir Park if McGhee leaves at the end of the season, but he has moved quickly to dismiss the rumours.

"It's absolute rubbish and the main reason why I never bother to read the Sunday papers," Lambert told the Chairboys' official website.

"This is pure invention and I have no intention of going anywhere.

"I've enjoyed every minute of my time at Wycombe and I've still got a big job to do here. There's no way I'll be quitting."
