Lambert backs Blues rise

23 Jan 2008 - 07:23:48

Wycombe Wanderers boss Paul Lambert has backed his side to continue their upturn in form and challenge for automatic promotion from League Two.

The Chairboys have lost just once in their last eight league games and secured a valuable 1-1 draw at Rotherham United last weekend.

Lambert told the Bucks Free Press: "I was disappointed not to get the victory. I thought we should have had even more out of the game than the one point.

"They had a big crowd behind them and they made some real noise, but we rode the storm, which we had to. After that we were excellent and should have won it.

"I've a got great belief that the lads can do it and they have got great belief.

"We have got better and better as the season has worn on and we will give everything we have got to try and do it."
