Chairboys win Johnson appeal

Wycombe Wanderers have been successful in their appeal against Roger Johnson's dismissal in Tuesday's win against Scunthorpe United.

The Chairboys captain was shown the red card in the 75th minute of the 2-1 win for an alleged elbow on Steve Torpey.

Manager John Gorman was always confident his player was innocent, saying after the match: "The one major problem was the dismissal of my new skipper Roger Johnson who was adamant that he didn't elbow Steve Torpey and I'm delighted to say that the video shows that.

"We'll be appealing against the referee's decision and hopefully Roger will get a three-game ban rescinded."

Johnson will now be available for Saturday's League Two clash with Darlington.
