Wycombe Wanderers boss Gary Waddock has used his contacts on transfer deadline day after signing Gareth Ainsworth and Kevin McLeod.

With Waddock knowing both players from his Queens Park Rangers days, he swooped to sign them on transfer deadline day.

Ainsworth had already spent a spell on loan at the Buckinghamshire club earlier this term and he is ready to pick up from where he left off.

Speaking to the club's official website, Ainsworth said: "I've just seen Gaz (Waddock) when I walked in - he's come in with all his rock'n'roll antics. He's a top man, I really like him and it's a pleasure to play with him."

Winger McLeod has also admitted that Waddock's influence had a big role in him joining the relegation-threatened side.

He added: "Gary's a great coach and a great man to play for and I want to come here, get my head down and prove myself to him.

"It's all about playing for someone and enjoying it."
