Wycombe face player shortage

Wycombe Wanderers manager is facing an injury crisis with just days to go before the start of the League One season. The Chairboys kick off their season against Charlton Athletic on Saturday, but have been decimated with problems in pre-season. "We've got nine injuries in a squad of 20-odd," manager Peter Taylor told the club website last week. Midfielders Tommy Doherty and Ian Westlake are two of the latest casualties, after picking up ankle and hamstring injuries respectively. Lewwis Spence and Lewis Hunt also look set to be absentees for Saturday's return to League One against the Addicks. But there was better news for Wycombe after Saturday's friendly with Bristol City. Craig Woodman, Stuart Green and Leon Johnson all played some part of the warm-up match and could figure this week if there are no knock-on effects.
