Taylor pleased with Chairboys
05 Oct 2008 - 14:41:12
Wycombe Wanderers boss Peter Taylor was pleased with the application of his side, following a 3-1 win at home to Bournemouth which sent the Chairboys back to the top of League Two.
Goals from Matt Harrold, Chris Zebroski and Scott McGleish gave Taylor's side the three points and took them back to the summit as Bury could only draw 3-3 at Aldershot Town.
Taylor told the club's official website: "I thought we were poor in the opening 30 minutes, but in the last quarter of an hour (of the first half) we were excellent.
"Bournemouth are a very good team who are going to pick up a lot of points, but we deserved to get a goal, as we had a lot of possession in the last quarter of an hour.
"I wasn't very happy with the opening stages of the second half, but that's where I can only applaud the boys, because with their spirit and character they don't want to back down."
