Wycombe Wanderers have signed teenage Tottenham Hotspur defender Adam Smith on an initial month's loan.
The 18-year-old has been brought in as cover for a number of injuries affecting Peter Taylor's squad.
Taylor told the club's official website: "We've unfortunately got injuries to both of our right-backs and instead of continuing to play a centre-back there, I decided to go and get another full-back.
"That doesn't mean that Adam will play at Charlton, but I am pleased to have a very energetic, athletic right-back on board."
Meanwhile, former Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller has joined the Chairboys on a non-contract basis.
Taylor added: "I've known Danny for a long time, he had lots of injuries last season but he's a good player and a good type.
"I explained to him we've got a lot of midfielders in the building already, but he wanted to come with us for a month on no pay. That shows a great attitude."
