Taylor: Harrold wasn't dropped
04 Mar 2009 - 16:42:17
Wycombe Wanderers boss Peter Taylor insists top scorer Matt Harrold was not dropped for Tuesday's 2-0 win against Chester City.
The Chairboys began the match with Stuart Beavon and JP Pittman in attack with Harrold handed a "deserved break", according to Taylor.
He said: "I don't class it as dropping.
"Since Matt Harrold's been here he's played every game, sometimes up there on his own, and I thought he was 'cream-crackered' to be honest and I thought he deserved a little bit of a break.
"He wasn't very happy because he wants to play every game and quite rightly so.
"I just felt I wanted to see something different, to see how JP and Beavon did together. At times they did well and at times they didn't but it wasn't a dropping. I understand people will think it was, but for me it was a rest."
