McParland targets promotion

Midfielder Anthony McParland is looking forward to kick-starting his career after completing a permanent switch from Barnsley to Wycombe Wanderers.

The 24-year-old was initially signed by the Chairboys on an emergency loan on New Year's Day after enduring a difficult 12 months with the Tykes.

The former Celtic trainee only started two games during his time at Oakwell, but is determined to put that nightmare spell behind him after signing a contract until June.

"I just want to be playing football again," he told the club's official website. "Whatever position I'm asked to play in I'll perform there.

"Since I've been down here the boys have been great. Now I want to get back on the pitch and contribute to this club getting promotion."
