McCracken hopes boss stays

Wycombe Wanderers captain David McCracken believes retaining manager Peter Taylor is vital if the club is to win promotion this season.

The former England Under-21, Hull City and Crystal Palace boss has been linked with the managerial vacancy at Championship side Watford in recent days.

But McCracken is hoping Taylor remains at Adams Park after guiding the Chairboys to the top of the League Two table following an impressive start to life with the club.

"It's vital the club keep hold of the gaffer," said the defender.

"It's great if the there are other clubs sniffing around for him because it shows we're doing well, but the club needs a bit of stability, especially if we're going to finish the job off this season and achieve promotion."
