Lambert wants good draw

Wycombe Wanderers boss Paul Lambert hopes his side is drawn against one of the Premiership's big clubs in the last eight of the Carling Cup following their 1-0 win at Notts County on Tuesday.

Jermaine Easter's second-half goal helped the Chairboys reach the quarter-finals of the competition and Lambert was delighted with the hard-fought success.

"I wanted us to go through, not just because we might land a big payday, but for the sake of our fans - who are magnificent - and the players. It's a prestige thing," he said.

"Some of our lads are very young and inexperienced and if we get drawn against one of the big Premiership clubs it will give them the chance to see what it's like on the other side of the coin."
