Lambert lands strike duo
26 Jan 2007 - 09:03:10
Wycombe Wanderers boss Paul Lambert has snapped up Darlington striker Simon Johnson and Northampton Town forward Scott McGleish amid rumours that Kevin Betsy is about to leave Adams Park.
Johnson has scored ten goals in 74 appearances for the Quakers having started his career as a trainee with Leeds United.
The 23-year-old told the Chairboys' official website: "It's been a quick and smooth move for me.
"When the opportunity came I was more than happy to have talks with the club and I'm delighted to be here."
McGleish has been a regular scorer during his time at Northampton, netting 54 goals in 132 appearances for the Cobblers.
The 32-year-old former Barnet and Colchester United hitman was recently placed on the transfer list at Sixfields.
