Wycombe Wanderers manager Paul Lambert offered no excuses for his side's appalling display in the 6-0 thrashing at Stockport County.
The Chairboys were humiliated at a rain-soaked Edgeley Park, having thrown away a two-goal lead in midweek at home to Hereford United.
Lambert said: "We did okay in spells in the first half and coming back from two goals down was achievable, but we've never been beaten like that before and we're all hurting.
"We've been well beaten by the better team, credit to Stockport. The pitch wasn't good, but I'm not going to start using that as an excuse.
"We've played on pitches like that before. I'll just say hopefully this kind of result will never happen again.
"Everybody is hurting, but I'm not making any excuses. The two goals shortly before the half-time interval weren't good for us, but we'll go again next week."
