    Chairboys axe six players

    11 May 2007 - 11:11:38

Wycombe Wanderers manager Paul Lambert has released six players while three loanees have returned to their parent clubs.

Frank Talia, Anthony McParland, Ikechi Anya, Matt Barnes-Homer, James Faulkner and Dean Thornton have all left Adams Park following the club's failure to reach the League Two play-offs.

Meanwhile, Ricardo Batista has returned to Fulham, Scott Golbourne has gone back to Reading and Anthony Grant to Chelsea.

Lambert is already looking to strengthen his squad with a new goalkeeper at the top of his list.

"Riccy (Batista) has gone back to Fulham and Frank Talia is one of those leaving us, so I need another one," he told the Chairboys' official website.

"I've lined up a keeper who I think will be great - he's tall, commands the penalty box and communicates well with his defenders.

"I can't name him yet , but I'm confident that we've landed him."
