Beavon on the comeback

Wycombe Wanderers striker Stuart Beavon is closing in on a return to action after undergoing surgery to correct a groin problem.

The 25-year-old has not featured for the Chairboys since early October, but is now upbeat about his recovery.

He told the club's official website: "The recovery is going really well. I've been to see the surgeon and he is really happy with it, so I can finally get back on training pitch and start running.

"Hopefully all the injuries are out the way now, so I can just get on with it.

"I've had groin problems before. When I started getting a bit of pain I went to see the surgeon. He said I needed another operation, but decided that it was best to try a different procedure this time."
