Whicelow set for bow

Striker Matty Whichelow could make his debut for Wycombe when Tranmere visit Adams Park.

Whichelow joined Wanderers on a one-month loan deal from Watford on transfer deadline day after Scott Rendell moved to Oxford until the end of the season.

Whichelow will join fellow 20-year-old Matt McClure is trying to oust Ben Strevens and Stuart Beavon from the starting line up.

Recent loanee Anthony McNamee is set for his second debut for the club after the winger returned on a permanent deal following his release from MK Dons.

Centre-back Leon Johnson has resumed full training after having stitches in a gashed knee but it remains to be seen whether he will be involved.

Teenage winger Kadeem Harris this week joined Carling Cup finalists Cardiff for an undisclosed fee.

Owain Fon Williams is poised to return to the Tranmere line-up.

Goalkeeper Williams has been sidelined since November with a broken hand and was due to come back in Monday's reserve game against Manchester City.

However a frozen pitch put paid to those plans, and Paul Rachubka's return to Leeds upon the expiry of his loan spell means Williams will be thrust straight into first-team action.

Andy Robinson (knee) and Enoch Showunmi (leg) returned to light training this week and could be in line to feature in attack as Adam McGurk injured his ankle after netting the equaliser in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield. Joss Labadie is available for midfield duty after shaking off a foot problem, but defender David Raven remains a long-term absentee as he recuperates from a double hernia operation.
