Wycombe weakened once again for Grimsby clash

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth will field a makeshift side once again as they prepare to bounce back from a disappointing start to the campaign against League Two new-boys Grimsby.

Ainsworth named himself and goalkeeper coach Barry Richardson, 47, on the bench for the Chairboys' 1-0 EFL Cup defeat at home Bristol City as a growing injury list has left his side down to the bare bones.

Myles Weston, Luke O'Nien, Michael Harriman, Marcus Bean, Danny Rowe, Nick Freeman and Max Muller are doubts after recently sustaining knocks. Sheffield Wednesday loanee Cameron Dawson will continue in goal after joining on an emergency loan, with summer signing Scott Brown struggling with a thigh injury.

Paul Hayes and Paris Cowan-Hall are sidelined through injury but new signing Will De Havilland, Sido Jombati, Matt Bloomfield, Stephen McGinn and Dayle Southwell should keep their places in the starting line-up.

Grimsby skipper Craig Disley is expected to return to the side after missing the first two games of the season.

Disley was forced to sit out due to concussion guidelines but has been back in training and is under consideration.

Midfielder Sean McAllister limped out of the midweek cup defeat at Derby with a groin problem and is doubtful.

Zak Mills (hamstring) is also injured but Josh Gowling is available after a one-game ban.
