Wycombe edge closer to the drop

DAVID Clarkson's 76th minute winner was enough to take all three points back to Bristol as the basement battle in League Two saw the West Country side roll out 2-1 winners against Wycombe Wanderers.

In the big crunch game at the foot of League Two, it was the visitors who struck first through Lee Brown on 11 minutes before the home side equalised through Matt McClure on 20 minutes.

Despite the home side have the greater possession, Clarkson's winner saw The Pirates leave Adams Park with all three points leaving Wycombe facing a must win situation next week when they travel to relegated Torquay United. Their only hope of survival is a win against the Devon outfit next Saturday in the hope that today's opponents Bristol Rovers and Northampton Town both slip up in their remaining fixtures.
