Parkin rescues Cod Army

Jon Parkin rescued a point for Fleetwood as the League Two promotion chasers drew 1-1 with Wycombe to extend the hosts' winless run at Adams Park.

Despite leading for a long period thanks to a superb goal by Stuart Lewis, the Chairboys have now gone nine games without a victory and sit just two points outside the relegation zone.

Wycombe went ahead just before half time as a Sam Wood free-kick was headed out as far as Lewis, who unleashed a terrific first-time strike from 25 yards that Chris Maxwell could not keep out.

The Chairboys nearly doubled their lead early in the second half as Lewis found Kretzschmar in space down the left with the youngster's powerful effort well kept out by Maxwell.

The Fleetwood keeper, making his debut for the club, then denied Kretzschmar once again after Matt Bloomfield's through ball had sent him clear.

The Cod Army equalised with 14 minutes left after Wycombe failed to clear a Gareth Evans corner with Alex Marrow playing the ball back into the danger area for Parkin to hook in.
