Morecambe claim welcome win at 10-man Wycombe

Morecambe won for just the second time in nine outings after beating 10-man Wycombe 2-0 at Adams Park.

Shaun Miller's ninth goal of the season early in the second half set the Shrimps on their way before Jamie Devitt scored from the spot late on after goalkeeper Matt Ingram was sent off.

The result was the Chairboys' first defeat in six contests in all competitions and ended their three-match winning run.

The first half was uneventful, with the only really chance seeing a free-kick from Morecambe's Kevin Ellison tipped round the post by Ingram.

Both teams came out with more attacking intent in the second half and Morecambe took the lead in the 54th minute when Miller scrambled in Ellison's header from Devitt's long ball.

The points were effectively secured when substitute Aaron Wildig was brought down by Ingram and he was given his marching orders.

Defender Jason McCarthy - whose loan from Southampton is due to expire on Sunday - went in goal and, although he went the right way, Devitt's penalty was too powerful.
