Waddock upbeat despite defeat

Wycombe manager Gary Waddock felt his side gave a good account of themselves in the 2-1 defeat to Chesterfield and had nothing to be ashamed of against their high-flying opponents. Welsh striker Craig Davies struck either side of Ben Strevens' equaliser for Wycombe to send the Spireites to the top of League Two. Waddock said: "In terms of the performance, I thought we played very well. I thought it was very good considering they are at the top of the league. "We've taken it to them and got ourselves back into the game, but they've got a striker in Davies who's a very good finisher. "They were ruthless in terms of the chances they had and they stuck them away, but if we play like that in the majority of the games, we give ourselves a chance of winning football matches. "The players are devastated because they felt they deserved to get something from the game and I have to say I believe we should have got something as well from it."
