Waddock out to make big impression

Wycombe manager Gary Waddock says his squad are looking to impress their supporters when they kick-off their npower League Two campaign on Saturday. The Chairboys suffered relegation from League One last season but Waddock claims his players have shown no sign of a hangover from the disappointment and are keen to bounce back at the first time of asking. And the 48-year-old is hoping his charges put on an impressive display in-front of a bumper crowd when Morecambe visit Adams Park at the weekend. Waddock, who's team have netted 28 goals in pre-season, told the club's official website: "Everyone will judge how successful pre-season has been when we play Morecambe, but we're in a good position and the lads are keen to get started. "Hopefully the fans have enjoyed what they've seen so far and there's more to come from us. It'd be great to see a big crowd for the first game and more importantly, we want to give them something to cheer about by collecting all three points. "It's nice to start the season at home but it will only be nice if we get off to a positive start. The fans have been right behind us and there should be a great atmosphere - we're all looking forward to it."
