Montrose prepared for first-team battle

Wycombe midfielder Lewis Montrose will not take his first team place for granted despite his fine start to the season. The 21-year-old has started every game under Gary Waddock so far this term but will keep working hard to secure his role in the side. He said: "I don't feel like I am the first name on the teamsheet or cemented in the first team squad. "I have to make sure I am on my toes all the time because you are never secure and you have to earn your right in training and take your chance. "I feel like I am improving. The manager was a midfielder and really encourages us to get on the ball which has been good for me as a young player. "Last season I had injuries. But I had to wait for my chance and take my opportunity and that is what I feel I have done."
