Chairboys march on

Wycombe leap-frogged Stevenage after securing a deserved 2-0 victory at Broadhall Way. It was no surprise when Wycombe went in front 10 minutes before half-time. A corner was swung in from Gareth Ainsworth and midfielder Kevin Betsy was on hand to nod home from close range. Seconds before the break Ainsworth's shot struck the post, before Stuart Beavon grabbed the second goal, with a neat effort from just inside the Stevenage box. After the break the hosts showed some renewed impetus and Ronnie Henry and Yemi Odubade almost grabbed a goal back, but Wycombe hung on comfortably in the end and were worthy winners.
