Ainsworth set for rest

Wycombe midfielder Gareth Ainsworth is likely to be rested for the FA Cup third-round visit of Hereford. The 37-year-old played for 73 minutes of the disappointing 3-0 defeat at Crewe on Saturday but struggles to turn out twice in four days and is usually given midweek games off by manager Gary Waddock. Veteran defender Chris Westwood did not enjoy one of his better afternoons at Gresty Road so youngster Marvin McCoy could start at right-back. Midfielder Matty Bloomfield missed out on Saturday with a knock and is being monitored while striker Jon-Paul Pittman remains a long-term absentee as he continues his recovery from a ruptured knee tendon which has kept him out since September. Josh Parker (foot) remains the only other long-term injury concern and the midfielder will not feature for at least six weeks. Should they be victorious in the delayed tie, the Chairboys will face League One giants Sheffield Wednesday in round four.
