Ainsworth accepts substitute role

Wycombe midfielder Gareth Ainsworth insists he has no problem with being left out of the starting XI after celebrating his 500th career appearance at the weekend. The 37-year-old came off the bench to rack up the milestone against Oxford on Saturday after manager Gary Waddock chose 19-year-old Matty Phillips in his place. Ainsworth said: "I was not thinking about the record when I came on but in hindsight I am very proud. "I don't have a problem with being left out. I was keeping players out of teams when I was 19 and now he is keeping me out. "You have to get behind whoever starts because we could all see the roles reversed."
