Dragons confirm Carey job

13 January 2007 10:49
Wrexham have confirmed that Brian Carey will remain in place as the club's new manager for the rest of the season. Carey was placed in temporary charge following the axing of Denis Smith and his assistant, Kevin Russell, but the Red Dragons have moved quickly to firm up the position. A club statement read: "Following recent changes in personnel at the club, the directors would like to confirm Brian Carey in the role of manager for the remainder of the current season. "Continued speculation about who the club might be appointing is unhelpful to all concerned, especially Brian and the players. "Our short-term aim is to ensure that the club acquires sufficient points to remain in the Football League and the directors feel that Brian is the man to lead us through this difficult period."
