Star Man- John Stern is undoubtedly Trinidad’s star man, scoring 12 times in his countries qualifying campaign. Stern John is also the countries all time leading scorer with 64 goals under his belt and a World Cup campaign to come. Stern is currently playing domestically for Derby County in the Coca Cola Championship in England. He is on loan from Coventry City also of the Coca Cola Championship.
How did they qualify - The team just missed out on an instant entry to the world cup and had to gain entry by playing against Bahrain in the play-offs. This is the first time the team have qualified for the FIFA world cup, due to qualifying the country decided to make a public holiday to celebrate the teams victory.
Although the team will not be expecting great results from their first world cup in Germany 2006 they are pleased they have made it into the finals. The team also play in the Gold cup which they have yet to passed the semifinals.
The team however are said to be the best team in the Caribbean and have won the Caribbean cup 8 times. Many people may not know much about the team so above we have provided a photo of the Trinidad and Tobago national team along with their team badge.
