	Star Man- Paraguay have two real star men, one of them being their captain Carlos Gamarra. Carlos is the heart of the defence and holds the record for most ever caps for Paraguay playing 104 times. He currently plays his football for Palmeiras in Brazil. The other star man is Denis Caniza who plays along side Carlos Gamarra at centerback. Denis is currently playing for Cruz Azul of Mexico

How did they qualify - Paraguay had a bad start to their qualifying campaign losing their opening game to Colombia 1-0. They made up for this bad start two games later with an impressive 1-0 victory over Argentina which set them on their way to more impressive displays including a 4-1 win over Bolivia. Overall Paraguay found the qualification a real challenge only finishing fourth in the group 3 points ahead of Uruguay and the play-off place, although fourth in a group consisting of; Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Peru and Bolivia is nothing to be ashamed of and can consider qualifying for the World Cup a job well done.
