Holland World Cup 2006

Country - Holland
Capital City - Amsterdam
Continent - Europe
Manager - Marco van Basten
Captain - Philip Cocu

How did they qualify - The Netherlands finished top of their group by a clear 5 points from any other team, they were the only team in the group not to lose any matches and finished on 32 points gaining entry into the FIFA world cup 2006.

Although the team have never won the world cup they are ranked 3rd in the world and are always a strong contender in the competition. Their best place finish were in the years of 1974 and 1978, they were runners up in both these years.

A different story in the European championship as the team have always done alot better. In 1988 the team took home the title and since they were formed have only not qualified twice.

The team are now in preperation for next years start in Germany. Above are the Holland national team photo and badge.
