How did they qualify - Croatia qualified for the world cup in style topping their group, levelling with Sweden on 24 points, Croatia topped the group on goal difference and matches won. Out of the 10 games they played the team won 7 and 3 of them were draw games.
Up until 1994 the team had not entered the world cup due to being part of the Yugoslavia, the teams first attempt at the world cup was of top class and the managed to finish in a respectable 3rd place in 1998, however this was not lived up to and in 2002 the team only made it as far as the first round were they were knocked out.
The team will try to repeat the performances of 1998 in hope that they will take the country even further, big shoes to fill but so far they have done an excellent job.
