How did they qualify - Brazil National football team came out on top of their qualifying group, with the same points as Argentina. Brazil were on top by goal difference. Brazil only lost two of their 18 games played and managed to tot up 35 goals during these games.

Brazil are ranked number 1 in the world and thats no supprise, the team have won the world cup a massive 5 times since they were first formed, never failed to gain entry to the finals. Such a strong team to beat and feared by many opposing teams. Brazil are the only team to qualify for every world cup since they were formed.

The early years for Brazil proved to be somewhat disappointing as the team were not clearly focused on the game and there were many disputes amongst players. World cup 1938 was the turning point for Brazil as they finished in an excellent 3rd place, this was also the year that Leonidas became the first player to score 4 goals in one world cup match, this was the start of a great future of world cup tournaments.

The team are to be guided through the finals by Carlos Alberto Gomes Parreira, he is one of two coaches to have guided four different teams to victory in the world cup. Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE were the four teams led to victory by this superstar coach.

Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Cafu are among the potential stars of the tournament in Germany 2006, are there any other stars in the Brazil team photo above.
