Angola World Cup 2006

Country – Angola
Capital City – Luanda
Continent – Africa
Manager – Luis Oliveira Goncalves
Captain – Fabrice Akwa
Star Man – Akwa – scored some very crucial goals in qualification.

How did they qualify – Top of a very tough group containing Nigeria and Zimbabwe they had their work cut out to reach the finals of The World cup Germany 2006. Level with Nigeria but went through top with a better record in head to head games thanks to a 1-0 victory in one of the clashes. They have never qualified for the World Cup before and have never really looked like doing so, their usual goal is to make the African Cup of Nations. The current squad has a very solid defence that could cause some upset to even the world’s top strikers they will face in Germany.
