Young on Villa comeback trail
The 30-year-old, who has been struggling with a thigh injury, played the full 90 minutes along with fellow defender Wilfred Bouma. And he was delighted to find himself facing a stern examination from an experienced Wolves side, as England Under-21 winger Michael Kightly also stepped up his return from a broken metatarsal. Young told AVTV: "It is always nice when you turn up for a reserve game and they've got a few experienced players out there. I had a young tricky winger up against me, so that was quite a good work-out for me. "Sometimes reserve-team games can be a little bit slow in tempo but I don't think Kev (reserve team coach Kevin MacDonald) allows that. My fitness is good and I've been training with Kev quite a lot." The match was drawn 1-1 as Kightly fired Wolves in front after just eight minutes before Craig Gardner equalised following a flick from brother Gary - the two siblings playing together for the first time in the Villans' second string.
