Wolves are interested in re-signing Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne ahead of their return to the Premier League.
The England Under-21 international spent three months on loan with Wolves in the Championship last season.
Mancienne's form while with the Molineux outfit led to a surprise call-up to the full England squad and Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey is hoping that his club can land the central defender on a similar loan deal.
Wolves are reported to have failed with a £4million offer to land the 21-year-old on a permanent basis in recent weeks.
"Michael has never left our thinking but I don't think Chelsea will allow him to leave on a permanent basis," admitted Moxey.
"We've not necessarily finished our business. We haven't used a loan yet so they are available to us."
