Wolves to extend Jarvis deal

Premier League hopefuls Wolverhampton Wanderers are talking to Matt Jarvis about a new contract.

The midfielder's current deal expires this summer and manager Mick McCarthy confirmed his hopes of extending the deal to the long term.

"We'll be sitting down to discuss it with him and his agent," confirmed the former Republic of Ireland coach.

"Jarvo is another one who loves it here, he wants to be in the first team and he's like the rest of us - he wants to get to the Premier League," McCarthy added.

Jarvis has made nine appearances for the Championship leaders this season, scoring one goal.
