Wolves suffer double blow
01 Oct 2008 - 14:28:58
Wolves will be without Michael Kightly and Matt Jarvis for one and two months respectively after both wingers picked up hamstring injuries during Tuesday's 3-0 defeat to Reading.
The Championship leaders also saw full-back Stephen Ward pick up a rib problem, but manager Mick McCarthy has revealed his disappointment at the extent of the injuries suffered by his two midfielders.
"Jarvo has torn his hamstring and he will be out for at least two months," he told the club's official website.
"Kights has a hamstring strain and we think it will be at least three to four weeks before he will be back in contention.
"But hopefully, Wardy could be okay for the weekend. I thought he was terrific last night.
"He was accidentally caught on the chest by Karl Henry's studs and was in a lot of pain.
"The medical staff assessed him at half-time and gave him the green light to carry on."
