Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has made two signings on transfer deadline day.

Preston defender Matt Hill moves to Molineux on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee while McCarthy has also snapped up Norwich City defender Jason Shackell.

Hill said of his transfer: "I'm delighted to be here. It's a fresh start for myself and a new challenge at a club which wants to go places.

"Alan Irvine gave me the option to come and speak to Wolves and I'm obviously glad I've done so and I'm really happy."
