Wolves give Harte a go

Former Leeds United and Sunderland left-back Ian Harte has been taken on a two-week trial by Wolves. Harte was released by the Black Cats after playing only a small part in last season's Premier League campaign and is linking up again with Mick McCarthy at Molineux, the one-time manager of the Republic of Ireland. Harte, who made 64 appearances for the Republic, is now 30 years old and will face competition from the left-sided Michael Gray who is also in discussions with Wolves. "I feel good," Harte told the club's official website, before adding: "I believe I've got plenty more to offer but that's up to Mick."
