Wolves extend Gibson loan

Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson has extended his loan stay at Wolves until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old was due to return to Old Trafford in January but will now remain with the Championship promotion hopefuls until May.

Gibson has made nine appearances during his time at Molineux.

"Sir Alex (Ferguson) has agreed that Darron can stay and we are grateful to Manchester United for that," manager Mick McCarthy told the club's official website.

"Darron's a good footballer and has done well since he came here."
