Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sam Vokes has signed an improved three-year contract with the Premier League club.
The 20-year-old Wales international has yet to establish himself as a first-team regular at Molineux, but is clearly highly thought of by manager Mick McCarthy, who has now tied Vokes to the club until the summer of 2013.
The player himself told the club's official website: "It's nice security for me to come back for next season and know I've still got three years left on my deal.
"Hopefully if I get a chance next season I will take it, because scoring goals in the Premier League is what I want to do.
"From my point of view, I want to come back for pre-season and try as hard as I can to push into the squad and the team.
"Adding an extra year to the deal just gives me that confidence and I know I've got time to work on the things I need to try and make an impact.
"The Premier League is where everyone wants to be and I'm delighted to have had a taste of it this season.
"But now I want to build on that next year and hopefully get some more appearances and get some starts."
