Sylvan backed to hit form
26 Dec 2009 - 13:29:58
Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy remains confident that striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will prove to be a success in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old has scored just once in the top-flight this term, having previously netted 37 times in 64 appearances for the Molineux club before the start of the current campaign.
McCarthy told the Birmingham Mail: "He's a far better player now because he's a more rounded player.
"He's getting better and the goals will come because he's playing well.
"For the last two seasons he's been playing in an easier league. He's working hard and working the channels because he's seen and understood he has to do that side of it.
"He's desperate to score because all good strikers are and he'll judge himself on that and be judged on it."
Ebanks-Blake's strike partner Kevin Doyle added: "Sylvan is getting chances and he's hitting the target, that's the main thing.
"If he wasn't getting chances, he'd be worried."
