Plan comes together for Wolves chief

Wanderers suffered relegation from the top flight under Dave Jones back in 2004, before Glenn Hoddle tried and failed to orchestrate a return to the top flight in successive seasons. Moxey adopted a new strategy prior to Mick McCarthy's appointment in July 2006, and it could not have gone any better with a sell-out crowd at Molineux on Saturday hoping see the club seal their long-awaited return to the top flight. "We set out this young and hungry policy three years ago to try to build a team to get us promoted based on hard graft, which is what Mick, the players and the fans are all about," said Moxey in the Express and Star. "If we do make it, it would give us great satisfaction in terms of this three-year plan coming together in exactly the way we hoped it would. "We brought in a manager who had done it before, starting at a very low ebb, with young players and doing it cost-effectively, keeping wage bills under control and getting our fans back on side. "It's been wonderful stuff and the fans have enjoyed some fabulous football this year - if we could just finish it off with a win and get promotion that would be great."
