No World Cup fears for Milijas
08 Dec 2009 - 08:06:48
Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Nenad Milijas is not too concerned that a lack of first-team action could prove costly to his World Cup ambitions.
The 26-year-old Serbia international has taken time to settle in at Molineux and has started just seven games to date, although he opened his goalscoring account with a superb strike in the 2-1 weekend win over Bolton Wanderers.
Milijas told the club's official website: "I don't have a problem of having to play regularly to keep my place for Serbia. I just need to train well and be fit and healthy, that's the most important thing for me.
"I just want to give 100 per cent in every training session and match I play. I've played well for my national team and I think I'll stay in the first eleven.
"I haven't spoken to (head coach) Raddy Antic about it. He has many good players, but I just want to be in that national team and he will select the team.
"We have a few months before the World Cup and we'll be training for a month before the competition, so we'll see then."
