Wolves defender George Elokobi has signed a new three-year contract with the club after making a full recovery from the serious knee injury that halted his progress in the 2008-09 campaign.
The 24-year-old moved to Molineux from Colchester United in January 2008 but played no football for nine months after suffering the serious injury later that year.
He has gone on to start 39 matches for Mick McCarthy's side and was a first-team regular in the closing weeks of last season.
McCarthy said: "I'm absolutely delighted that George has earned himself a new contract, which is a credit to his sheer hard work and determination. He's come back from a career-threatening injury and got back on the last day of the season we were promoted.
"He then contributed to our survival in the Premier League. George is such a great character around the place and is an inspiration to anyone who ever gets injured in terms of how he has come back.
"He's a really valued and respected member of the squad and I'm delighted to have him signed up. He's got better and better and has just got a great desire to improve all the time."
